Much of East Asia, as seen by the map, consists of Chinese, Tibetan, and Mongolian ethnic groups. The typified features of an East Asian (epicanthic folds, shorter stature, and dark hair) probably came into place during the evolution of modern humans. People with these features were probably more suited to the climes of Asian regions.
Scientist classified ancient peoples features in three different types, which has mainly fallen out of favor due to the racist nature of the words: Caucasoid, which were the people with European features; Mongoloid, which were the people with East Asian features; and Negroid, which were the people with Afro-Middle Eastern features (that's the racist one).
